What happened when his wife called to say the car was flooded

The man was ashen-faced after receiving a telephone call from his wife.  Concerned, his co-worker asked him everything was all right.

“Well,” the man replied, “I guess it could be worse.  That was my wife, calling to tell me that she flooded the car.”

Well, surely that’s not so terrible - the co-worker had flooded his own car on several occasions.

“By driving it into the river?” asked the man?
